Instructional Excellence

We must empower Aldine teachers and leaders to provide rigorous and responsive instruction daily to all students.

  • CBPL PROTOCOLS We will strengthen all CBPL processes and protocols, including unit and lesson internalization systems, lesson rehearsals, and student work analysis. This will support and develop teachers’ understanding of and effective preparation for lessons.
  • MULTILINGUAL LEARNERS We will refine multilingual curricular materials and provide guiding documents and support. This will increase teachers’ capacity to meet the needs of emergent bilingual students.
  • DECISION RIGHTS We will clarify decision rights between the Teaching and Learning Office and the Schools Office and ensure that school leaders and teachers understand the roles of each team. This will promote alignment across the central office, schools, and role type while also creating clarity for teachers.
  • DATA INFRASTRUCTURE AND LITERACY We will build staff capacity to own data and improve data infrastructure systems, which will improve teaching and learning.
  • OBSERVATION AND FEEDBACK SYSTEMS We will design and implement observation and feedback systems. This will develop teachers’ ability to execute rigorous and engaging lessons.
  • STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES We will design and implement a stronger instructional model with high-quality professional development to increase teacher numbers and staff capacity. This will meet the needs of students with disabilities.
  • STUDENT-CENTERED LEARNING PRACTICES We will design and implement a system to increase the capacity and understanding of leaders and teachers. This will meet the needs of our Black students.
  • FAMILY AND CAREGIVER PARTNERSHIPS FRAMEWORK We will develop and implement a shared framework and monitoring system. This will empower families and caregivers to advocate for their children to improve academic outcomes.
